2007 TOUR OF HOMES
Volunteer Opportunities


 

    A new volunteer position this year is need to help during the Dinner Tour. Volunteers for this area would be involved in
    festive decorating and setup, as well as serving wine and clearing tables. No dishwashing would be necessary!  The
    number of dinner tour volunteers is limited so please let the Tour Chair, Wendy VanHatten know if you are interested

    Reservations: Work a 4 or 4 1/2 hour shift at the Red Cross office taking phone reservations and scheduling
    walk-ins for seats on the Tour. Volunteer Times are between 8:30 and 4:30 M-F. Orientation for this will be Monday
    Oct 15 at 3:30. If you are interested please contact Virginia Wrightman 274-2574 Pooginny@aol.com or Espi Gibbs

   Home Host/Hostess: Serve as a host or hostess at one of the five homes on the Tour.  Greet guests as they enter the
   homes, ensure the safety of the homeowners belongings, be sure lighting, music, etc are set as requested by the homeowner.

   Tour Guide: Serve as a tour guide for one or more of the 60 tours scheduled to be held between November 14 and 17. 
   You will need to arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled tour, which will last at least 2 1/2 hours.  Tour guides are
   responsible for keeping the tour running on schedule.  Information about the tour and the Red Cross will be conveyed to
   the participants via video on their bus ride to and from the Dakota Dunes development.  You are responsible for reinforcing
  
the tour rules and keeping the group on time.  Training for tour guides is held on Monday November, 12th at 12:00 p.m. 
   or at 6:30 p.m.

   a message, please include information regarding your availability and phone number where you may be reached.

   Gathering Area Reception: Work a 3 – 4 hour shift at Tyson Fresh Meats Inc. 800 Stevens Port Drive, Dakota Dunes,
   which will be the gathering area for this year’s Tour.  Gathering area duties may include a mix of registration, raffle ticket sales,
   food prep, and clean-up.  Hours are available daily from 9:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m.,Wednesday – Saturday, Nov. 14 – 17th.

  
Gathering Area Setup/Clean-up:  Setup – Tuesday, November 13 – Any block of time from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
   Clean-up – Sunday, November 18 beginning at 3:00 until done (2 – 3 hours). If interested, please contact Beth Trejo at the
