                                          Public Relations Internship

                    This is an unpaid position that will assist the American Red Cross, Siouxland Area Chapter,
                       with planning, development and execution of communications.

                    Assist in the development and coordination of events such as the Tour of Homes and Heroes Breakfast.
                       As well as assist with other activities that support the goals and objectives of the American Red Cross.

                    Write and disseminate articles, media advisories, news releases, or other documents deemed necessary
                       by the American Red Cross.   

                    Place calls to the media to follow-up on press releases, or other media contacts.

                    Perform research on sponsor prospects, grants and event related items.  This includes library research,
                       Internet, in person, telephone calls or other methods of research.

                    Assist with the coordination and development of media lists, databases and update the information periodically.

                    Promote goodwill inside and outside the agency by representing the Red Cross in a professional manner,
                       with a cheerful can-do attitude.
