Tour of Homes Committee Meeting

1.     Update on activity since the last meeting

a.     2007 Tour Chair Wendy VanHatten was announced as the 2007 Tour of Homes Chair. She will be working closely with staff to coordinate this year’s tour.

b.    Three Homes Secured The Home Selection Committee has three homes secured and are working on two more. They hope to have those finalized very soon.

c.     Raffle Committee The Raffle Committee has been meeting and will meet next on Thurs July 19th at 2:30. At this meeting the committee hopes to decide on raffle groupings and provide an update on items received.

d.    Volunteers needed (Mktg Committee) More volunteers are needed specifically for the Raffle Committee, as well as chairs for the Tour Guide Committee and Reservation Committee. The group also discussed changing the Publicity Committee to a Marketing Committee meaning that they would help with follow-up and making personal contacts to get the word out to the community regarding the 2007 Tour. Currently there are no volunteers signed up for the Marketing Committee.

 

Also discussed was the need to send out postcards to the current list of volunteer addresses that we have. A volunteer is needed to donate a couple hours total to send out these postcards. Please contact Red Cross staff if you are interested or know someone willing to help.

2.     Sponsorship

a.     Personal Connections Letters to past sponsors and new potential sponsors will be going out shortly. It was discussed that when sending letters to new potential sponsors, we include an opportunity for them to purchase tickets for their organization. The Marketing Committee would then assist staff with follow-up.

 

It was also announced that if volunteers have personal connections to any businesses in town, and would be willing to personally deliver the sponsorship request letter, please contact Red Cross staff.

3.     Discuss Dinner Tour

a.     Pricing The price of a 2007 tour ticket will be $30 and will go on sale Oct 22nd. It was decided that the ticket for the dinner without a tour will tentatively be $45. For the combination dinner and tour, it will be $60.

b.    Entertainment The group decided for the dinner to include the live auction and due to time and budget limitations, no additional entertainment.

c.     Day of Dinner Tour The dinner tour will be held on Saturday evening, November 17th beginning at 5:30 p.m.

 

4.     Set Next Meeting The next group meeting will be on July 31st. Everyone is welcome so bring a friend and we will see you then.
